History: The single vineyard Don Melchor originates from 114 hectares at Puente Alto in the Alto Maipo Valley. At the foot of the Andes Mountains, this is the finest terrior for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile. In 1984 Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle's vision for the vineyard compelled him to send samples of the wine to eminent enologists to taste in Bordeaux. Jacques Boissenot's enthusiasm was immediate and he has been involved in the making of every vintage since.
Tasting Notes: "A dark, muscular style, with black currant, braised fig, maduro tobacco, bittersweet cocoa and loam notes that all roll together through the dense but polished finish. There's impressive power for the vintage, along with percision and balance. Drink now through 2018." 94PTS - Wine Spectator
