...Seneca Lake
Seneca Lake is the deepest of the Finger Lakes, at 632 feet deep. The New York Sate Agricultural Experiment Station is located in Geneva, a the North end of Seneca Lake. In the late 1950's vinifera grapes were introduced to the region by Charles Founier and Dr. Konstantin Frank. Their success, along with a wine research program established by Agricultural Experiment Station helped establish the regions's grape growing and wine producing industry. The Seneca Lake Wine trail was established in 1986.
